High-speed chase in Chippewa County ends with arrest
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A high-speed chase through Chippewa County ends in a crash and arrest. 44-year-old Andre Simmons of Eau Claire was arrested after the chase yesterday afternoon (4/28/24). It ended in a crash on Highway 29 near Stanley.
According to the State Patrol, a trooper spotted a car connected to a felony burglary in Eau Claire involving firearms. Four people were taken out of the car before the driver took off at about 117 miles per hour. The State Patrol says officers used a pit maneuver to get him off the road.
After the crash, Simmons was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
