High-level meeting: Zelenskyy on POW talks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy convened a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters on April 29, focusing on updates from the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War regarding negotiations for the release of POWs.

"The Commander-in-Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi, delivered a comprehensive report," stated Zelenskyy.

"It concerned frontline operations, our positions, the most active sectors, and the anticipated supplies."

The President was also briefed by Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of Ukrainian Military Intelligence (HUR), and Vasyl Maliuk, head of the Ukraine’s SBU Security Service.

"Our nation must maintain transparent communication with the families of prisoners," Zelenskyy said.

"There must be as much clarity as possible about each individual and the efforts being made to reunite our people with their families."

The last exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia took place on Feb. 8. Ukraine returned 49 soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine, 25 border guards, and 26 servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including 11 members of the territorial guard.
