Hidden Valley 4-H Camp now accepting scholarship applications

SCHUYLER COUNTY, N.Y. (WETM) – The Hidden Valley 4-H Camp is now accepting scholarship applications for those who would like to send their children to camp but need financial assistance to do so.

The camp is offering two different opportunities for families to receive financial assistance to send their child to camp: the Hidden Valley 4-H Camp Scholarship and the Elmo M. Royce Scholarship. The camp is open to all youth ages 6 to 16.

Scholarship opportunities available to be awarded for Hidden Valley 4-H Camp are limited each year. All applications are reviewed at the end of April, and award announcements are not offered before May 1. The camp offers both full and partial scholarships.

Schuyler County CCE to host educational events in April

All scholarships are given as a priority to those who aren’t able to attend camp without it, and scholarships are not typically awarded to those who plan on attending more than one week of camp. Schuyler County Youth is also the priority.

Those who are not Schuyler County residents are encouraged to check with their local Cornell Cooperative Extension branch to be directed toward funds to support camp attendance.

Hidden Valley 4-H Camp Scholarship

The Hidden Valley 4-H Scholarship is open to all families who would like to send their children to camp but may need financial help to get them there.

An application must be submitted for each child that the family wishes to be considered, and all applications must be submitted by April 20.

The application will be reviewed by the Hidden Valley 4-H Camp Advisory Committee, and decisions about who will receive the funding will be made by May 25.

Applications that are received after the deadline will be decided on at the discretion of the Camp Director based on available funds.

Elmo M. Royce Camp Scholarship

The Elmo M. Royce Camp Scholarship is open to Schuyler County residents only.

The scholarship comes from the Community Foundations of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, Inc. and was created for any Schuyler County youth who is interested in going to camp but has a financial need.

All applications for this scholarship must be submitted by April 16.
