Hickory man wins $1 million from scratch-off

HICKORY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A lucky man from Hickory is celebrating after he turned a $50 scratch-off into $1 million, according to NC Lottery officials.

George Scheide bought his lucky $10 Million Spectacular ticket from Kountry Kwik Stop on NC 127 in Hickory.

The $10 Million Spectacular game debuted in December with five top prizes of $10 million, 20 prizes of $1 million and 20 prizes of $100,000.

Of those prizes, three $10 million, 14 $1 million, and 12 $100,000 prizes have yet to be claimed.
