Hershey Bears clinch 2023-24 Atlantic Division title

HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM) – The Hershey Bears (48-12-0-5) earned the Atlantic Division title and claimed the Eastern Conference championship after topping the Lehigh Valley Phantoms 1-0 on Tuesday at the GIANT Center.

Pierrick Dubé notched the only goal for the Bears and Hunter Shepard secured the shutout with 19 saves. The win marked Shepard’s fifth shutout and 25th victory of the season.

The Bears are now 8-2-0-2 against the Phantoms this season.

Hershey’s two standings points placed the Bears at 101 points, which is the 10th time in the clubs’ history that they reached the 100th-point mark with seven games remaining. The last time the Bears completed this feat was in 2014-15.

The Bears are traveling to Iowa for the first time in their history to face the Iowa Wild for a two-game slate starting Friday, Apri 15 at Wells Fargo Arena. Hershey returns to the GIANT Center on Friday, April 12 to take on the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at 7 p.m.
