A hero taxi driver got Liverpool mayor Steve Rotheram's 2 daughters out of the Manchester Arena

LONDON – A taxi driver left his car and walked on foot to collect the daughters of Liverpool mayor Steve Rotheram after the attack on the Manchester arena on Monday night.
Rotheram's two daughters were among the thousands of people who attended Ariane Grande's concert at the Manchester Arena last night. An unidentified man detonated a bomb in the arena as the concert came to an end, killing 22 and injuring at least 59.
Rotheram, who was elected Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region earlier this month, told Sky that a Liverpool taxi driver travelled to over 30 miles to Manchester to collect his two daughters from the venue.

The BBC reports that multiple taxi drivers based in Liverpool drove to Manchester to help people who attended the Ariana Grande concert get home safely.
Rotheram's friend Manchester mayor Andy Burnham described the attack as "evil" but said "the spirit of Manchester will prevail" over terror. Speaking this morning, the Manchester mayor said:
"It is hard to believe what has happened here in the last few hours, and to put into words the shock, anger, and hurt that we feel today.
"These were children, young people and their families that those responsible chose to terrorise and kill.
"This was an evil act."
"We are grieving today, but we are strong. Today it will be business as usual, as far as possible in our great city."
