Hernando County deputies need your help solving 1981 cold case

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Hernando County deputies need help solving a 1981 cold case.

Ricky Merrill and Dori Colyer were last seen May 9, 1981 leaving the Hilltop Lounge in Brooksville. They had told some friends they would be back shortly, but never went back.

The two were later found dead in a vehicle that was on fire along Stafford Avenue.

Deputies consider the case a homicide.
