Here's your first look at Blake Griffin in a Detroit Pistons uniform

Two days after agreeing to ship Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marjanovic and two draft picks to the Los Angeles Clippers, the Detroit Pistons will introduce the players they received in the trade during a Wednesday press conference. With all due respect to Willie Reed and Brice Johnson, all eyes will be on five-time All-Star power forward Blake Griffin, the biggest name included in the blockbuster swap and the biggest star the Pistons have employed in a decade, who’ll be not only trying to breathe new life into a flagging franchise, but also donning a new team’s uniform for the first time in his eight-year NBA career.

Here’s what that’ll look like:

Griffin wore No. 23 while starring at Oklahoma en route to becoming the No. 1 pick in the 2009 NBA draft. When he got to the Clips, though, veteran big man Marcus Camby already had 23 locked down, so the rook reversed his numbers. Now, after seven-plus years of wearing No. 32 with the Clips, Griffin joins the Pistons … who retired that number last February in honor of Richard Hamilton’s contributions to the franchise’s last great run of glory and NBA championship.

Hence, Blake turning back the clock to his college days, and hoping to do the likes of 23-wearing Pistons predecessors Mark Aguirre and Ersan Ilyasova proud in his new stomping grounds. (Ideally by, like, combining their statistical production.)
