The Herald-Times mail delivery begins April 15

Dear Herald-Times readers,

I know change is hard. The morning newspaper is part of your routine. For many of you, it has been part of your routine since The Herald-Times switched from afternoon to morning delivery in 1989, when the named changed from The Herald-Telephone.

For those of us working at the H-T, change is all we have ever known. Adaptation is a core requirement for staying in the newspaper business.

Starting Monday, April 15, we are changing how the printed edition of the H-T is delivered to your home. Economic and workforce challenges have affected our ability to deliver the newspaper with consistency and reliability, which is why we'll be partnering with the U.S. Postal Service to deliver your daily newspaper along with your mail.

Delivering the print edition through the postal service is the best way to guarantee our work gets into the hands of our subscribers. With this change, the Sunday edition will be delivered on Saturdays. Advertising inserts currently delivered on Sundays will be included and delivered to subscribers on Saturdays.

We provide the newspaper in numerous formats, including a replica e-edition that lets you read articles from the printed paper, enlarge the font, easily email articles to your friends and family, print off puzzles and keep up with news in communities all across the U.S. There's even bonus content, including later-than-deadline national sports and news. The replica e-edition is available through our website or a mobile app.

We also publish local news on our website and a second mobile app, often before the stories appear in the print edition. We also offer unlimited access to the USA TODAY Crossword digital app and site with your paid subscription. You can sign up for newsletters and get notifications through our mobile app when we post a new story.

The reporters at the H-T are dedicated to covering this community. Many of our journalists have been serving Bloomington for decades. We remain committed to producing high-quality journalism that gives you the information you need to understand the issues we face, the decisions being made that impact your life, and lets you get to know your neighbors.

If you have any questions about this change or need assistance accessing the e-edition, please contact customer service at 812-336-4200.

Thank you for your support during this transition,

News Director Jill Bond
