KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The once budding ‘Bromance’ between Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Hollywood legend Henry Winkler seems to have stalled out.

“I met him once; it was just dynamic; he gave me his jersey,” Winkler told the FOX4 Morning Show.

“I invited him to dinner. A delicious chicken dinner. He’s never called,” Winkler deadpanned.

Winkler met Mahomes before the Chiefs beat the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium in LA in November of 2022.

“I told him we were going to have chicken with a great reduction sauce. It’s still on the dining room table,” Fonz joked.

Winkler is coming to Kansas City this weekend for Planet Comic Con at the Kansas City Convention Center.

Kidding aside, Winkler still gushes about his meeting with Mahomes in 2022.

“He was so approachable, he was so warm,” Winkler recalled. “He talked to me like we were in a living room somewhere. Not like he was about to go and play this ferocious game of football.”

Winkler reenacted the meeting that left the iconic American film and television legend legitimately star-struck.

“He (Mahomes) ran off, and then he turned around and said, ‘I’m going to take you up on that dinner’.”

Winkler then comically held a landline phone next to his famous face.

“I’m waiting,” he smiled.
