From Road & Track

We've been hearing rumors about it for what seems like forever, but finally we have photographic confirmation: Here is the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, complete with the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 from the Dodge SRT Hellcat underhood, caught completely undisguised and looking very production ready.

How do we know for sure this is the Trackhawk? Take a peek under the hood, or check out the full gallery of all our spy photos here:

Without that under-hood shot, you'd be hard-pressed to realize this was anything other than a facelifted Grand Cherokee SRT. That's purposeful-consider that the 707-horsepower Hellcat-powered Dodge twins (Challenger and Charger) have bodywork identical to their non-supercharged, 485-horsepower little siblings. The Jeep spied here has the same pocket-style hood scoops and horizontal slit air opening in the bumper seen on the Charger SRT and the newly-announced Durango SRT.

This coincides with previous video footage we've brought to you, showing an SRT-looking Grand Cherokee that sure sounded like it had a supercharger wailing away under the hood.

Jeep officially confirmed the Hellcat-powered Grand Cherokee back in early 2016, later detailing that it would hit dealerships in July of this year. We have a hunch that it will be all-wheel drive, the first (and so far, only) vehicle to pair Fiat-Chrysler's 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 with an all-wheel drivetrain.

The Grand Cherokee SRT Trackhawk is set to make its official debut at the New York International Auto Show in April, alongside FCA's other supercharged madness machine-the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. Until then, have a gander at the numerous spy shots we've caught ahead of Jeep's schedule.
