Heck sentenced for drug dealing, assault on officer

May 14—A 42-year-old man with addresses in Raeford and Sanford was recently sentenced for felony drug dealing and misdemeanor assault on a police officer.

Antonio Deangelo Heck pleaded guilty to the two charges and nine were dismissed as part of a plea agreement. The 11 charges were from three separate cases.

Heck was sentenced on May 1 by Judge Taylor Browne. Heck was given credit for 82 days in jail and ordered to complete a special probationary period of 90 days of house arrest with electronic monitoring. He will be allowed to go to work from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Heck is required to pass a monthly drug test and will be on supervised probation for 18 months, a court document states.

He was ordered to pay $2,350 in court costs and attorney's fees.

On Dec. 17, 2022, Heck possessed 7.2 grams of cocaine with intent to sell and assaulted Sanford Police Officer David Meszaros, according to a court document.

Heck has a lengthy criminal record totaling 18 prior offenses with at least eight felonies ranging from Guilford, Harnett, Hoke, Lee and Moore counties.

The dismissed charges include driving with a revoked license, eluding a police officer, revoked tag, fictitious tag, fail to heed lights or siren and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
