Heavy rain, gusty wind moving into metro Detroit

Spring weather in Michigan can often be unpredictable with rain, sunshine, snow, etc. This weekend, rain is expected across metro Detroit. You know what they say, April showers bring May flowers.

According to a tweet from the National Weather Service Detroit, there is a marginal risk for severe weather across southeast Michigan between 10 p.m. Friday and 1 a.m. Saturday.

Rain is expected before 3 p.m., with expected amounts totaling a quarter to half an inch. The temperature is a high of 60 degrees with gusts of wind reaching about 30 mph.

Later Friday, widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected after 9 p.m. Rainfall amounts are expected to be three-quarters of an inch to an inch with high winds reaching 38 mph. The chance of precipitation is at 100%.

On Saturday, there is a chance of rain after 9 a.m. with precipitation at 40%. It is expected to be partly sunny with temperatures near 44 degrees.

In the evening, the chance of precipitation is 30% with a chance of rain before 9 p.m. It is expected to be mostly cloudy but gradually become clear. Gusts of wind could reach 28 mph but are expected between 11 and 20 mph.

Sunday is expected to be sunny with a high of 47 degrees. The evening will be cloudy with some wind.
