Heating oil prices drop 4 cents in Maine as warmer weather arrives

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) -- A Maine government survey says the average price of heating oil in the state has dropped 4 cents from three weeks ago, to $3.54 per gallon.

The Governor's Energy Office said Wednesday the average statewide price for a gallon of heating oil ranged from $3.26 to $3.83. It also found the average price of kerosene dropped 5 cents over the last three weeks, to $4.01 per gallon. The average propane price is now $2.93, a drop of 11 cents per gallon from three weeks ago

The average heating oil price was highest in southwest Maine at $3.83 per gallon. Propane was most expensive in the central part of the state and kerosene most expensive in the north.
