"I turned 40 last week and at first I was like 'oh god,' but it's the best I've ever been in my life. I love my husband. I love my baby. I love my work and in a weird way I'm much calmer now than I was 2 years ago," exclaims Molly Sims to Healthy Hollywood.
Healthy Hollywood is a big fan of Molly's. I first met Molly back in her modeling heyday - at least a decade ago. She was super sweet then and is still super sweet today. She's one of those celebs who greet you with a smile and chatting with her is like getting together with an old friend.
Healthy Hollywood caught up with the model/actress at the recent New York City event to launch the healthy deodorant from Lavanila Laboratories.
A lot has changed in Molly's life since I last saw her. For starters she's married and had a baby boy, Brooks, a year ago. "Instead of buying that latest beauty product, I'm more worried about what he's eating. That's where my life is and has changed."
Molly is absolutely beaming about her new role as mom and wife to producer, Scott Stuber. Yet, she candidly admits she gained 72 pounds during her pregnancy and only recently shed all of her baby weight. "Six months ago I wasn't in a good place. I hadn't been in my clothes in almost 18 months."
Molly reveals to Healthy Hollywood losing the baby weight was one of the hardest things she's ever done. Right before Brooks was born, the 5' 10" pre-baby 130-pound Sims ballooned to 204 pounds. "It's not like losing 10 pounds or 20 pounds. I had 72 pounds to lose. I had to be really strict on working out and sweating. I needed to cut back on calories. And, I never met a bread basket I didn't like."
Motherhood has also made her more eco-conscious. She's careful about buying eco-friendly cleaning and beauty products. That's why she's big on the all-natural Lavanila deodorant. "Your skin is your biggest organ. When I was shooting "Vegas," I was using that deodorant that doesn't make you sweat. And, my girlfriend explained to me how bad it was because it blocks all your pores."
