He is risen: Tim Tebow ends slump with first professional hit
And during the 14th at-bat, he singled. It may have taken a little while, but former quarterback turned New York Mets outfielder Tim Tebow finally picked up his first hit in the Arizona Fall League.
The base hit came during Tebow’s second at-bat during Tuesday’s contest against Chicago Cubs prospect Duane Underwood Jr.

Hey, not bad. That’s a solid line drive to left. And while we don’t claim to be scouts over here at The Stew, the ball did make a pretty sound coming off Tebow’s bat.
The hit couldn’t have come at a better time for the 29-year-old. Prior to that moment, Tebow had been 0-for-13, with six strikeouts during his brief stint in the AFL. Some experts were already calling his presence in the league a “farce.”
One hit doesn’t suddenly make those concerns disappear, but it probably makes Tebow feel a lot more comfortable about his career change.
