Cord-cutters rejoice: HBO’s chief executive Richard Plepler this week indicated that the company may expand its offering of HBO GO to non-cable subscribers. The executive revealed to Reuters that in the future it may team up with Internet providers to offer the popular streaming service to customers.

“Right now we have the right model,” he said. “Maybe HBO GO, with our broadband partners, could evolve.”

HBO GO is currently offered to HBO subscribers through their cable television provider, however Plepler said that the service could be packaged with a monthly subscription in partnership with different broadband providers. The executive explained that customers could pay $50 a month for their Internet service and an extra $10 or $15 for HBO GO to be included in the package.
“We would have to make the math work,” he concluded.
