HBO just released its first look at the Andre the Giant documentary

After years of rumors, we’re that much closer to seeing the Andre The Giant documentary.

HBO just released its first look at the film, which is scheduled to be released in April 2018. It’s about 30 seconds long and should leave wrestling fans wanting plenty more.

The documentary is being jointly produced by HBO, the WWE and Bill Simmons Media Group and is arguably the most-anticipated non-30-for-30 sports doc in quite some time. The Giant, who died in 1993, stood 7-foot-4 and weighed more than 500 pounds was one of wrestling’s biggest stars as it became a mainstream phenomenon in the 1980s. His match against Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania 3 in the Pontiac Silverdome ranks as one of the biggest pop culture moments of the 1980s.

Given the success of ESPN’s Ric Flair documentary last month, you can expect this one to attract just as much interest.
