Hayfield man injured in crash with a tree

Apr. 9—CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Minn. — A man was injured in a single-vehicle crash north of Rochester on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

The 2019 Chevy Pickup was traveling west on U.S. Highway 63 when the vehicle went into the south ditch near West River Road and struck a tree around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to a Minnesota State Patrol crash report.

The driver, Ryan Blaine Severson, 43, of Hayfield had non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys. Severson was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, Rochester Fire Department, Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service and Minnesota Department of Transportation also responded to the crash.
