Hawkins to play for Raptors in NBA Summer League

Jun. 28—Former Northwest Missouri State forward Ryan Hawkins will become the second Bearcat to get an NBA shot this offseason.

Creighton announced Hawkins will play in the NBA Summer League next month for the Toronto Raptors. He will join Trevor Hudgins, who signed a two-way contract with the Houston Rockets, will also take the floor in Las Vegas.

Hawkins was a Division II All-American at Northwest and an All-Big East second team member for the Bluejays, helping Creighton to a win in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

Hawkins shot 45 percent from 3-point range in his last two years at Northwest and shot 36 percent from deep at Creighton.
