Hawaiian adds seats on Manila-Honolulu route

HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaiian Airlines is adding seat and cargo-carrying capacity to its route between Honolulu and Manila to accommodate holiday and winter season demand.

The Honolulu-based airline says it's now using 294-seat Airbus A330 airplanes on the route instead of the 264-seat Boeing 767 jets.

It introduced the new planes to the route on Sunday, and will continue using them through the end of March.

Hawaiian flies the route four days a week.

The move adds 2,500 seats to the flights during the peak travel period. It also expands cargo capacity by 25 percent.
