Hawaii Five-0 has announced who will be filling the void left by Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park, now their characters Chin Ho Kelly and Kono Kalakaua have been written out of the show.

Ian Anthony Dale (below) has been bumped up to series regular as Adam Noshimuri – Kono's husband – who has now been recruited to work for Five-0.

Joining him will be Being Human's Meaghan Rath as Tani Rey, who was originally kicked out of the Police Academy and is now working as a lifeguard.

Also signed up is Beulah Koale (Thank You For Your Service) as a former Navy SEAL who asks McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) for a job.

Asian-American actors Kim and Park had quit after seeking pay equality with their white, male co-stars Alex O'Loughlin and Scott Caan, and although CBS budged a little bit, it was nowhere near good enough.

The final offer put forward by CBS was said to be between 10% and 15% lower than what O'Loughlin and Caan were earning.

In addition to the salary disparity, O'Loughlin and Caan already have bonus back-end deals, which makes it even more unfair.

Kim posted a message to his fans last Wednesday saying that it was an honour to have been part of the show and that "the path to equality is rarely easy".

Kim, Park, O'Loughlin and Caan have all appeared together as part of an ensemble since the show launched seven years ago.

Hawaii Five-0 airs on CBS.
