HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaii Democrats have picked three candidates to fill an open U.S. Senate seat, narrowing the choices for Gov. Neil Abercrombie as he considers an appointee to replace the late U.S. Sen. Daniel Inouye.
The state party central committee voted on its selections Wednesday during a closed-door meeting at the party's headquarters near downtown Honolulu.
It's not immediately clear who the three selections are. Party officials said they would not release the selections, leaving that up to the governor.
Abercrombie's spokeswoman did not immediate return a phone call seeking comment.
