Harvey County Sheriff’s Office discovers pink-tinted fentanyl powder

HARVEY COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — The Harvey County Sheriff’s Office says the distribution and use of fentanyl is a continued concern.

Since the use of fentanyl can be deadly, the HCSO says it is important for them to keep the public educated on the latest trends they are seeing.

“We most typically find Fentanyl in Dirty 30s in our area – usually round, pale blue counterfeit Oxycodone pills that contain Fentanyl,” said the HCSO. “More recently, we’ve had two cases where we’ve discovered pink-tinted Fentanyl powder.”

Fentanyl is often consumed by someone using foil to smoke the pill or powder, according to the HCSO. When it is smoked, there is a black, burnt residue left on the foil.

If someone is having a medical emergency or to report a crime, call 911. If you have information that could assist in an investigation and would like to talk with the HCSO, call the Sheriff’s Office at 316-284-6960 and ask to speak to a drug investigator.
