Hartselle woman accused of assaulting victim with a knife, charged

HARTSELLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Hartselle Police Department (HPD) says a 20-year-old woman was arrested after officers found a victim who had been assaulted with a knife.

HPD said in a social media post that an investigator arrested Ty’Nisha La’Chelle Reed of Hartselle. She is charged with second-degree assault.

On February 21, 2024, at around 7:00 pm, Hartselle Police responded to a disturbance on Pennylane Street. When they arrived, HPD said officers found a victim with, “lacerations from being assaulted with a knife.”

Reed was quickly developed as the suspect. She was located and transported to the police department where she was charged.

Reed was transported to the Morgan County Jail and is being held in lieu of a $2,500 bond.
