Harry and William have pipped the Queen in list of 'hardest-working' Royals
The Dukes of Cambridge and Sussex have overtaken their grandmother, the Queen, in a list of busiest members of the Royal family so far this year, as the newlywed Meghan Markle joins the records with a total of one.
Prince William has worked for 33 days on public engagements since the New Year, now working as a full-time members of the Royal family after leaving his job as a search and rescue pilot to further support the Queen.
Prince Harry, who has been planning his wedding, pipped him by one day, with the new Duchess of Sussex listed once, for her own wedding.
The list, compiled by the Press Association from the Court Circular, shows the Queen spending 26 days working in public, in addition to her heavy duties within palace walls.
The list does not take into account the work undertaken by the Royal family in private, including meetings with organisations and charity work.
The Princess Royal has once again topped a list, spending 75 days on public engagements, followed by the Earl of Wessex with 59 and the Prince of Wales on 52.
The figures, covering January 1 to May 22. The Duchess of Sussex makes her first appearance in the circular today, under her new title, after attending a Buckingham Palace garden party in honour of her father-in-law.
She has already attended numerous Royal visits with Prince Harry, but her role was unrecorded before marriage.
After the couple announced their engagement on November 27, they carried out 16 days of royal engagements together, starting with a visit to Nottingham last year and ending with a series of Anzac Day commemoration events in London in April.
Highlights from the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall’s year include official overseas trips to France and Greece, and a visit to Australia, where the Prince launched the Commonwealth Games.
Since the start of the year, the Duke of York has carried out 31 days of work, the Duchess of Cornwall 30, and Duke of Edinburgh, who is retired, one.
The Duchess of Cambridge, whose son, Prince Louis, was born on April 23, went on maternity leave a month ahead of the birth and is caring for her family. She is listed at 22 days.
