Harrogate: Man suffers stab wound in knife attack

A man has been treated for injuries to his hand after being stabbed during a "violent incident" in Harrogate.

Officers attended the Mayfield Grove area at around 19:30 BST on Sunday to reports a man had been attacked.

North Yorkshire Police said a 32-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and a 27-year-old man was arrested for robbery.

The force has appealed for anyone with information about the attack to come forward.

'Isolated incident'

Supt Teresa Lam said: "Thankfully incidents of this nature are extremely rare in Harrogate, and they will not be tolerated.

"An investigation is now underway to establish the full circumstances.

"I would like to stress that we are treating this as an isolated incident and do not believe that there is any ongoing wider threat to the general public."
