HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A rally outside the state capitol Tuesday called for the expansion of public transit statewide.

Currently, bus service in many places runs six days a week. Those who rallied want it to expand to seven.

Governor Josh Shapiro has called for such expansion as well, as he wants to increase state funding of public transit by nearly 2%, with no tax increase.

Republicans, though, say such an increase would move funds from rural areas to larger cities.
