HanesBrands will make Gerald Evans sole COO

HanesBrands says Evans will become COO, Nictakis will take commercial operations role

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -- Clothing company HanesBrands Inc. is separating its co-chief operating officers, with Gerald Evans becoming its sole COO and William Nictakis taking a new position.

The company said late Wednesday that Evans, 54, will become COO effective Aug. 1.

Nictakis is moving into a new position as chief commercial officer for international business and global retailers.

The two men were named co-chief operating officers in October 2011.

HanesBrands' stock fell $1.50, or 2.9 percent, to $50.95 in morning trading Thursday, on a day when the Dow Jones industrial average fell more than 200 points.
