CANTON – Hall of Fame Village, in collaboration with Game Arena, will host the Great Lakes Esports Conference Championship on April 12 and 13 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

Founded in 2019, the Great Lakes Esports Conference is a collegiate esports league dedicated to universities in the Great Lakes region of the United States. Representing 24 member universities in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio, the GLEC recently expanded to include Saint Xavier University, Muskingum University, Cleveland State University and Heidelberg University.

The GLEC Championship will feature competitions across esports titles such as League of Legends, Overwatch, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The GLEC Championship is open to the public, with tickets available at the door and online for $15. For more information on the GLEC, visit http://glec.gg/.

Michael Crawford, president and CEO at Hall of Fame Village, said, “Welcoming the GLEC Championship aligns perfectly with our objective of drawing high school and collegiate associations to our venue for their competitions while offering an unparalleled backdrop for these competitors to enjoy. This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to expand our Gaming Vertical and develop high-quality esports programs.”

Game Arena, a Columbus-based esports LAN facility and equipment provider, has taken over the direction of the GLEC, foreseeing future expansions.
