Hailey Baldwin asked her parents to stop her marrying Justin Bieber
Hailey Baldwin has revealed she asked her parents to stop her from marrying Justin Bieber, if they thought it was a bad idea.
The 23-year-old model daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin and his wife Kennya married the Boyfriend singer in September 2018 after just a few months of dating.
Baldwin revealed in Bieber’s new YouTube docu-series Seasons: “I remember calling my parents when we decided to get married and I said, ‘This is the time I need you to stop me from doing something crazy if you think this is a bad idea.’

“‘Cause in my heart I knew that it’s what I wanted to do but I was like, just tell me right now if you think, well, woah, just relax and take a breath and think about this and see how you feel in like 24 hours or a week or something. And they were like, ‘Honestly, we think that this is meant to be for you and we know that this is what you want, so we trust you.’ And I was like, alright.”
Baldwin and Bieber briefly dated from December 2015 to January 2016 before splitting. They reconciled in May 2018, were engaged by July and married in September that year in a secret ceremony. They celebrated their marriage with a lavish second wedding attended by friends and family in September 2019.
Speaking about their relationship in the new documentary show Bieber, 25, said: “'I have the sickest chick in the game, she's so awesome.
“Since I was a young man I have always wanted to be married, I always wanted a family,' Justin says in the confessional. That was always high on my list but I didn't know it would happen and I am really pumped about it and I am really happy about it and I have the sickest chick in the game, she's so awesome.”
Baldwin admitted, “It all happened really fast,” but insisted it, “didn’t feel scary,” because they had known each other for such a long time.
Bieber and Hailey first met in 2009 after her famous uncle, actor Alec Baldwin, who got her tickets to his Today appearance. They then became friends through the Hillsong church.

Last year to mark their first wedding anniversary they threw a lavish celebration for around 150 guests at the Somerset Chapel in South Carolina.
Stephen Baldwin and both their families are believed to have been among the guests, along with Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott, Usher, Ed Sheeran, Jaden Smith, Joan Smalls, Kenny Hamilton and Scooter Braun.
