All Hail Katie Ledecky, Who Had a Baseball Player Hold Her Medals While Throwing Out a First Pitch
Katie Ledecky, mother of swimming pools, queen of breaking records, made her first major post-Rio appearance at a Nationals vs. Orioles baseball game Wednesday night.
Ledecky was there to throw out the first pitch, but before she did so, she unloaded her five medals (four of them gold, one of them silver) on Nationals right-fielder Bryce Harper, effectively turning him into a medal coat rack while she nailed the pitch.
According to the Washington Post, it was Harper's ideas to stand there and hold her medals, and he was happy to do it.
What a gold's! Was a pleasure holding something so valuable and important to this great county🇺🇸… https://t.co/K3gGvelJIe
