Mar. 2—A brief weather system will bring a period of light to moderate snowfall to Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties.

Although snowfall amounts will be light, travel will still be impacted due to low visibility, according to the National Weather Service. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday early evening commute.

In Androscoggin County, the forecast calls for total snow accumulations from 2 to 4 inches. In Franklin and Oxford counties, a storm total of 4 to 6 inches is forecast. Along the coast, a mix of rain and snow is expected.

Precipitation should wrap up by Thursday afternoon, and Friday will be quiet with highs near 40 in the afternoon, according to WGME forecasts.

Then a round of significant snow is forecast Friday night through Saturday. Impacts may be similar to recent snow events, with snow falling at varying intensities for a long duration.

It should be a heavy, wet snow ending Saturday evening.
