The third season of Hacks will be premiering very soon.
A first-look trailer released on Friday has confirmed that Hacks will be back on Thursday, May 2 with a two-episode premiere.
Two episodes of the Primetime Emmy Award-winning comedy series will continue rolling out weekly until the season finale drops on its own on Thursday, May 30.
The teaser reveals that legendary comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and her writer Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder) will be reuniting in Las Vegas — but they're on very different paths.
Deborah appears to be on top of the world with a career renaissance, but Ava soon warns her that some of her on-stage material is ruffling feathers.
"Some of the more problematic material, it's gaining traction," Ava warns.
Deborah's annoyance is a minefield of its own, as she rails off a litany of problematic terms for marginalised communities.
The clip is set to Sir Elton John's classic song 'I'm Still Standing', though the track is menacingly sped up as it becomes more obvious that Deborah is headed for disaster.
The new season will bring back Paul W. Downs as Ava's Hollywood agent Jimmy and Megan Stalter as his perpetually distracted assistant Kayla, as well as Carl Clemons-Hopkins as Deborah's manager and confidant Marcus.
There is an impressive group of guest stars lined up for season three as well, including Law & Order newcomer Tony Goldwyn, Academy Award winner Helen Hunt and Back to the Future's Christopher Lloyd.
The comedy series has previously won Emmy Awards for Outstanding Writing and Outstanding Directing, along with Jean Smart receiving the award for Outstanding Lead Actress twice.
Streaming service Max renewed Hacks for a third season in 2022, so fans will have been waiting nearly two years by the time the show returns.
Hacks will return for its third season with two new episodes on Thursday, May 2 on Max.
