Habitat for Humanity ReStore set to make upgraded return to Wilson County

LEBANON, Tenn. (WKRN) – Nearly four years after closing, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore of Wilson County is set to make a comeback.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville ReStore Director Jennifer Keaton said the new Wilson County store is getting bigger and better.

Push for more affordable housing options

“We’ll be going from 3,000 square feet to 30,000 square feet, which will give us the opportunity to provide more products and more opportunity for our shoppers,” Keaton said. “Everything from our home building materials to our home furnishings, including lighting, appliances, paint, just a lot of new exciting things we’ll be able to offer in this space.”

Located at the old Lebanon Outlet Mall at 204 Granville Drive, the new store is 10 times the size of its last place off East Main Street in Lebanon.

“At our previous space, we would have to move out donations out of the store, so our shopping experience looked different,” explained Keaton. “It was a bit of a challenge of providing that shopping experience as we wanted.”

Keaton said she’s thrilled about this project finally starting to come to fruition.

“We’re really excited to be able to come back and provide this to our community,” Keaton told News 2. “The ReStore actually provides and supports our mission for our Habitat Homes, so it’s very important for us to be able to provide affordable home ownership for our individuals and our Middle Tennesseans.”

Over the last three decades, Habitat for Humanity has built 94 homes in Wilson County.

Keaton said the nonprofit is currently searching for staff and volunteers.

“We will be having some more career opportunities for individuals in Wilson County,” said Keaton. “We are moving some of our inventory we’ve had in storage over to this location, finishing up putting some of our fixtures up so that we are able to start stocking shelves, and then, at that time, we will start accepting donations before we actually open to the public for shopping.”
