Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goat Milk Cleanse - Hope or Hype?

Gwyneth Paltrow’s website Goop has suggested drinking goat’s milk to get rid of parasites – is this a good idea, or just Hollywood hype?

"Gwyneth, we love you!” says Plastic Surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon. “If we didn’t have you, we wouldn’t have anything to talk about at the end of our shows!” And what has The Doctors talking today is the “goat milk cleanse” – eight days consuming nothing but herbs and goat’s milk to get rid of the parasites that, an article claims, we all have.

“Apparently the milk baits the parasites out of the gut lining, because they love to drink it – and then the herbs destroy the parasites,” explains ER Physician Dr. Travis Stork. “Somebody’s got a wild imagination!” comments Dr. Ordon.

Dr. Ordon also notes that the article is vague. “I want to know what parasites,” he says. Although it’s possible to pick up parasitic diseases while traveling, he points out, the host would feel very sick. “Saying that we all have these parasites and we need to cleanse ourselves of them? Iffy!”

The Doctors agree – although Dr. Stork thinks goat milk is a perfectly fine beverage, this cleanse is Hollywood hype.
