Drive-by shooting kills man on John F. Kennedy Way in Willingboro

WILLINGBORO — A drive-by shooter fired at a crowd outside a social club here Tuesday night, killing a local man.

The victim, 45-year-old Major Hamilton, was among numerous people outside the Diamond Dogz club when the shooting occurred on the first block of John F. Kennedy Way, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.

It said a dark-colored vehicle "crept along" the road while gunman fired multiple rounds toward the crowd around 9:15 p.m.

Hamilton, who was shot in the chest, died a little more than an hour later at a local hospital.

No other injuries were reported.

An investigation is underway, and no arrests have been announced.
