Guilford County deputies investigating rape of child, man arrested in New Mexico, sheriff’s office says

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (WGHP) — A man was apprehended in New Mexico last month on a sexual assault warrant during a Guilford County Sheriff’s Office investigation, according to a news release.

On Feb. 29, the U.S. Marshals Service and Albuquerque Police Department apprehended 37-year-old Jose Morado-DeLuna in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as part of an ongoing investigation conducted by detectives with the GCSO Major Crimes Investigative Unit.

Man pleads guilty to case of sexual battery at Piedmont Triad Farmers Market, courts say

The apprehension of Morado-DeLuna was conducted as part of a warrant service for one count of rape of a child by an adult offender.

Morado-DeLuna will remain in custody in Albuquerque pending an extradition hearing to determine if he will be returned to Guilford County for prosecution.

The investigation is ongoing.
