Groups rally for Palestine during event in downtown Oxnard

Local organizations rallied around the people of the Palestinian territories Wednesday evening in downtown Oxnard.

From unions representing workers at California State University to anti-war groups like the ANSWER Coalition, about 100 people joined for the Workers Unite for Palestine rally that included speakers, chants and a short march. The event was also tied to International Workers' Day, celebrated internationally on the first day of May.

Similar protests over the Israel-Hamas war have spread recently across U.S. college campuses from Columbia University in New York City to UCLA and USC.
