Greenville's new $56.7 million elementary school needs 'a name that reflects our values'
Greenville County Schools' (GCS) new $56.7 million elementary school at the former JL Mann site, will open in August 2025 and serve Pre-K through 5th grade.
It will have an academic focus on environmental science and will be located at 61 Isbell Lane in Greenville.
The two-story, 110,000-square-foot school will accommodate up to 750 students.
Now, all the school needs is a new name.

"This is a unique chance to leave a lasting impact on our community and ensure the new school carries a name that reflects our values and aspirations for future generations," said Tim Waller, GCS Director of Media Relations, in an email.
The name submission process is open to all community members. Residents, employees, parents and even students may submit an entry for consideration. The deadline to submit name suggestions is April 1. In late May, the Board of Trustees will vote to approve the school's name.
"The creation of the new school has involved public input at every stage. This naming opportunity is a continuation of the commitment to involve the community in decisions that shape our educational landscape. We look forward to seeing the creative and meaningful names our community proposes," Waller said.
