Greenville ISD's Class of 2024 to celebrate graduation this Friday

May 20—This Friday, more than 300 young people will walk across the stage at Greenville High School's and New Horizons' joint graduation ceremony — each celebrating a significant steppingstone in their life's journey.

Scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. at T.A. "Cotton" Ford Stadium, gates are to open at 6 p.m. and seating will be free and first-come, first-served. Graduating seniors will need to report to the Roy "Q" Traylor Athletic Complex adjacent to the field by 7 p.m.

Greenville ISD police and security will be present to better ensure safety to students and visitors.

"Greenville ISD highly encourages 'See something, say something,'" a community letter from the district said. "To report a safety issue regarding graduation evening, visit www.greenvilleisd.com/about-us/tip-line or call (903) 259-2664."

For attendees' comfort and enjoyment, the concession stand will also be open, selling snacks and cold drinks.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony may be delayed until as late as 11 p.m. Friday.

If weather conditions to not improve by then, the ceremony will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. if the weather is good enough to have it outdoors, or at 6 p.m. on Saturday if the ceremony has to be held indoors.
