Greenville firefighters hold brat and burger fry for cancer patients

GREENVILLE, Wis. (WFRV) – Greenville firefighters showed off their skills on the grill Friday for charity.

The brat and burger fry was a perfect lunchtime opportunity to raise money for people fighting cancer.

They’ve been doing this since 2010 in honor of their late fire chief and one of their captains, who both died of the disease within a year of each other.

“It’s important to us just to give back to the community,” Captain Josh Lambie told Local 5 News. “They support us, the least we could do is support them. And in memory of a past chief and a past captain, it means a lot to us to do this to help others when they need it the most.”

It did rain at the event, but that didn’t stop people from coming out to support.
