Greensboro man caught with drugs, jailed on $1.5M bond after Stanly County traffic stop

ALBEMARLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Greensboro man is in the Stanly County jail Monday on a $1.5 million bond for drug charges.

Stanly County Sheriff deputies stopped Elijohua Trevon Mason on Mountain Creek Road Sunday night. During a search of Mason’s vehicle, officials found over 170 grams of fentanyl.

Mason is facing the following charges:

  • Level III trafficking by possession of opiates

  • Level III trafficking by transportation of opiates

  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver Schedule II

  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver marijuana

  • Maintaining vehicle for the sale of Controlled Substances

Mason also had a handgun and marijuana in the stop.
