Heaton said crews were on the scene of the fire Tuesday reinforcing lines and conducting mop-up activities.

The USFS is monitoring the potential for high winds Tuesday night at the wildfire, but crews are also hopeful that forecasted rain will help contain and put out the fire.

The Forest Service plans to continue monitoring the fire.

The USFS first responded to the fire Friday afternoon. The fire has burned more than 40 acres.
