Greenbrier County man arrested after traffic stop

GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (WVNS) — A 47-year-old man from was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance after a traffic stop in Greenbrier County.

James Matthew Walkup, of Greenbrier County, was arrested after a traffic stop where controlled substances were discovered in his car.

Wyoming County man sentenced for felony drug crime

On Monday, March 11, 2024, Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Herman Rodriguez held a traffic stop in Greenbrier County. During a search of the car, controlled substances were discovered that later tested positive for fentanyl. Further investigation revealed that Walkup planned to deliver the controlled substance.

A warrant for delivery of a controlled substance was acquired for Walkup, and he was arrested on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 before being taken to Southern Regional Jail.

This is not the only time that Walkup was arrested for delivery of controlled substances, as he was arrested for the same offense in January 2024. However, by the time Walkup was arrested on March 12, 2024, he had already been released on bond for the previous offense.
