Green BOE to discuss finances at special Nov. 9 meeting
Green Local Schools Board of EducationMonday, Oct. 24, meeting
KEY ACTION Set a special meeting for 6 p.m. Nov. 9 in the Wilbur Berkey Fieldhouse to discuss district finances.
DISCUSSION The meeting will be held ahead of the November regular session, at which the five-year financial forecast will be presented. It's good to discuss finances when the district is not in a critical situation, said Superintendent Dean Frank. The special meeting will allow the board to address long-term planning and ask questions about the upcoming forecast. No action is expected.
OTHER BUSINESS:
Agreed to replace 420 Chromebooks for $103,727.
Each month a different building gives a report to the board. This month three teachers and several students from Green Middle School gave a presentation about how the year has been going and what lessons the school is working on.
Smithville High School FFA will be the host for a Veterans Day program on Nov. 4 with a breakfast to be served at 8 a.m. and a districtwide program to be held at 9 a.m. in the Wilbur Berkey Fieldhouse. Invitations were sent out with students, but participation may still be scheduled through the school office.
UP NEXT: Meets at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21 in the Wilbur Berkey Fieldhouse, 100 Smithie Drive, Smithville.
