Green Bay Police Department honors and remembers fallen officers on National Peace Officer’s Memorial Day

GREEN BAY Wis. WFRV – First responders gathered for Peace Officer’s Memorial Day. The purpose of the day is to honor and remember law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

Police Chief Chris Davis says police officers are heroes. The Green Bay Police Department posted on its Facebook page a video of the ceremony.

“I think it’s really important to remember those people who were willing to stand in that gap, who were willing to put their own lives on the line to keep people in our community safe, that is a special kind of person who’s willing to go out and do that every day knowing those risks,” stated Davis.
