Greece to grant Ukraine 70 howitzers in new aid package — report

Athens is preparing to extend another security assistance package to Kyiv, including missiles, artillery, and ammunition, Greek outlet eKathimerini reported on March 15.

The report details that the equipment will be contracted by Czechia and sent directly to Ukraine. Czech and Greek officials are currently negotiating the prices for these systems before shaking on the deal.

Greek authorities are confident that Ukraine's immediate need is for ammunition, and the aid package reflects that:

- 2,000 Zuni rockets;

- 180 guided anti-tank missiles;

- 90,000 90mm rounds;

- 4 million small arms bullets;

- 70 U.S.-made 155mm M114 howitzers.

The report specifies that the M114 guns were determined to be in surplus to the needs of the Greek military. This is the second batch of M114s that Greece will sell to Prague for transfer to Ukraine.
