Greater Green Bay Community Foundation awards $215,000+ to nonprofit organizations

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials with the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation say they have awarded over $215,000 worth of grants to nonprofit organizations throughout Brown, Kewaunee, and Oconto counties.

According to a release, a total of $215,700 was raised and awarded to 26 different nonprofits during the Funds for Greater Green Bay winter grant cycle.

Officials say the grants are awarded with the aim of improving the quality of life throughout the Greater Green Bay community with the latest grant cycle funding the revitalization of the Oneida language, efforts to reopen and restore Green Lake Park, and many other projects set on increasing personal and public safety, providing stable housing, and supporting individual well-being.

The 26 nonprofit programs and initiatives that were recipients of a winter 2024 Funds for Greater Green Bay grant are as follows:

Officials say Community Foundation grants are awarded based on a competitive application with reviews being made by a grants team of volunteers. During this cycle, a record 81 nonprofit organizations were said to have applied for funding, reflecting the high level of need within the community.

Each year the Funds for Greater Green Bay grants programs run two application cycles. The next cycle is scheduled to open on May 1, 2024, and run through July 1, 2024.
