Grasston man dies in Kanabec County crash

Mar. 28—MORA, Minn. — A 55-year-old Grasston man died Wednesday, March 27, after his vehicle struck multiple vehicles on Highway 65 in Kanabec County.

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash at 6:12 a.m. in Brunswick Township, south of Mora. According to the crash report, a 2009 Chevy Avalanche was southbound on the highway when it crossed into the northbound lane, striking a 2006 Chevy Impala before crashing into a 2012 Ford Econoline.

The driver of the Ford, Lucas Keith Meyer, 29, of Big Lake, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Welia Health-Mora Hospital. The Chevrolet driver, John Joseph Carlson, 61, of Isanti, suffered no reported injuries.

The 55-year-old Grasston man was not identified as of Wednesday evening.

The State Patrol reported the road was snow- and ice-covered at the time of the crash.

Assisting at the scene were the Kanabec County Sheriff's Office, the Mora Fire Department and Welia Ambulance.
